CARING FOR YOUR ARTIFICIAL GRASS

So your new artificial lawn has been installed and now its time to enjoy it. To make sure you keep enjoying it, we've compiled a list of handy hints and tips to keep it looking beautiful.

It's true that artificial grass is very low maintenance, but a very small amount of maintenance is required to keep it looking new. Maybe there are trees which drop leaves come Autumn, what if your pet uses your new lawn as a toilet? Here are a few tips and care suggestions you can do to keep your artificial grass looking it's best .

TIP 1 - Remove leaves and twigs.

Leaves and twigs do not cause damage to artificial grass but they do look unsightly and can hamper drainage. Leaves and twigs can contain seeds which if not removed can sprout within the fibres of the grass. The solution? A simple brush against the pile with a stiff bristle brush.

TIP 2 - Remove weeds.

Supreme Artificial Grass are confident that weeds will not grow from underneath your new lawn but seeds can be spread by birds and the wind, these seeds can germinate within the fibres. If any weeds are visible they can simply be plucked straight out with minimal fuss as they cannot grow roots. They just sit on top of the grass.

TIP 3 - Remove urine and excrement.

Your new lawn is safe for all the family to use, pets included, so it is inevitable that urine of excrement will come into contact with the grass. With this in mind you can treat artificial grass just like normal grass. Simply pour luke warm water over any urine which will drain through the grass backing and for the more serious 'accident' just remove with a poop bag and again rinse with luke warm water. We can also recommend a Artificial grass cleaner which use's live enzymes to clean any urine or excrement deep within in the pile

TIP 4 - Avoid contact with fire, solvent, paints etc.

Artificial grass is a synthetic product and as such any synthetics that come into contact with fire, solvents and paint will result in damage. Its not the end of the world should the worse happen and the affected area can usually be repaired. Prevention is always better that cure so please treat your lawn as you would with any other valuable possession.

TIP 5 - Sweep your lawn every now and then.

It may sound simple but a quick brush every couple couple of months can really maintain the look of your lawn.
